Magnesium

Magnesium is a mineral, macronutrient, and critical factor for the body’s operation of the heart bones, muscles, nerves, bowels, and much more. Most Americans are deficient in magnesium because consumed food sources are magnesium poor; this is related to consumption of a processed foods diet (refined oils, grains, and sugar), nutrient-stripped agriculture soil, and intake of foods that cause magnesium loss (coffee, alcohol, sugar, and medication). Supplementation is critical to obtain an adequate amount of magnesium per day.
